Social Alpha Innovation Foundation (SAIF) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit based out of California, US. SAIF supports science and technology innovations and entrepreneurship in developing or underdeveloped communities and countries to address the problems of climate change, healthcare, education, livelihoods and extreme poverty. SAIF was created in the US to learn from successful models in India and replicate them elsewhere in the global south. SAIF is an independent non-profit in the US.

SAIF raises grants, gifts and donations from philanthropic institutions and individuals to deploy in various ways, including:

• Catalytic Grants for R&D and Product Development

• Support for pilots, validations and market access

• Prize money for the innovation challenges

• Early-stage seed capital for incubated innovation

• Operating expenses of the foundation

• Creation of an endowment fund for future sustainability
