We are the Alpha Omega Chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota located at University of Mississippi; Mu A Province, Region IV.
We're so proud of sister Abi Thomas, who recently performed a wonderful senior voice recital!
Sisters Rachel Bailey, Madison Marasco, Rylee McIntyre, and Linna Zheng are members of the LOU Symphony Orchestra. This semester, they performed in the Side-by-Side Concert, Veteran's Day Concert, and Holiday Concert.
We had a wonderful pledging ceremony and welcomed Kailyn Cotten, Kenzie Loomis, and Kaitlyn Young as Members-In-Training!
Sisters Megan Roland, Rachel Bailey, Josie Tripp, Rylee McIntyre, Jerrika Pardubusky, and Addyson Strevel are members of the Pride of the South Marching Band and perform at football games!
Sister Abi Thomas performed alongside the Mississippians Jazz Ensemble at Double Decker Art and Music Festival! She was featured on the tune "Feeling Good" by Newley and Bricusse and gave a phenomenal performance!
Our chapter is delighted to welcome Rylee McIntyre, Jerrika Pardubusky, and Addyson Strevel to our sisterhood!
Sister Olivia Coyne recently gave her Masters recital titled 'Through the Archives". Her recital featured works that were significantly impacted by library archival systems, such as Price and Sutherland. She also gave the world premiere of Larry Hoffman's 'Antics for Violin and Viola'". Olivia will be continuing her education at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill to study library and information sciences.
Sisters Lin Washington and Holly Bleeden were presented the Sword of Honor award by their chapter this year. Both sisters are seniors and executive members who have fulfilled their roles in SAI in an outstanding manor.
Our chapter bids a bittersweet farewell to our seniors Holly Bleeden, Olivia Coyne (M), Reed Hairston (M), Luisa Macedo, Lin Washington, and Keyu Zheng. Holly Bleeden will continue her education at University if Illinois Urbana-Champagne pursuing a masters of library and information science. Olivia Coyne is continuing her education at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill pursing masters of library and information science. Reed Hairston is pursuing her career as a music teacher. Lin Washington is continuing her education at Auburn University pursuing a masters of music education. Keyu Zheng is continuing her education at University of Mississippi pursuing a masters of music performance. We are so proud of our seniors and wish them the best of luck!
Sister Keyu Zheng gave her senior violin recital! She performed a variety of repertoire including an emotional performance of "Butterfly Lovers" by Chen Gang and He Zhanhao. We are so proud of her and wish her good luck on her future endeavors.
Sisters Abi Thomas and Destiny Seat represented the Alpha Omega chapter at Province Day 2023 at University of Arkansas! They enjoyed the fun activities and loved meeting sisters from other chapters.
Sisters Holly Bleeden, Olivia Coyne, Keyu Zheng, and Linna Zheng were selected to participate in a chamber masterclass at the ASTA National Conference in Orlando, Florida. They performed movements from Dvorak's Terzetto and "String Quartet No. 12 'American'" for an audience and clinicials. They had the privilege to recieve a masterclass from Marian Anderson String Quartet which was enriching and fun!
