What is a Precinct Delegate
A precinct delegate is an elected grassroots representative for a political party (typically Republican or Democratic) who serves as a liaison between the party and voters in a specific local voting precinct. In Michigan, this is considered one of the most fundamental elected offices, with the primary role of turning out the party’s vote on Election Day and maintaining communication between neighborhood voters and party leadership.
