Greg Finke spoke on this theme, emphasizing that as disciples of Christ, we have opportunities each day prepared beforehand (Eph. 2:19) by the Spirit to show love in the name of Jesus to our neighbors. The Country Inn and Suites in Mankato serves as our location for this Annual SAGES Gathering. This hotel has conference center rooms along with plenty of hotel rooms to accomodate our participants.
HIGHLIGHTS GATHERING XXXVI
The 111 registered attendees appreciated the three presentations by Rev. Greg Finke as he encouraged us all to continue . . . “Living on Purpose with Jesus.”
Six breakout choices of interest were offered over the two days, three on Monday [“Church Involvement”, “Women in History” and “Six Pillars of Brain Health]”, and the three different topics [“Passing on Your Life Stories”, “Walking the Jesus Walk”, “Strategies to Prevent Fraud and Identity Theft”} on Thursday were presented twice. During breaks, attendees were encouraged to visit the vendors displays.
LCEF hosted a reception which preceded the Monday evening banquet. The MC for the evening, Dr. Phillip Johnson, led us in singing a Julie Andrews-adapted version of “These Are My Favorite Things.” After the meal, guests enjoyed entertainment by the RIVERBLENDERS, a barbershop quartet. Rev. Stefan Wismar, Executive Assistant to MN S District President Rev Dr. Lucas V Woodford led us in a closing devotion.
