The early concepts of the SAGE Mindset emerged in 1992 after the Founder, Ross Hannibal, experienced a near-tragic incident. He almost lost his wife and son during childbirth. This incident served as a wake-up call, highlighting the fragility and preciousness of life. Over the next two decades, ideas for the SAGE Mindset were developed and tested with thought leaders.
In 2012, the SAGE Club was founded within a medical equipment company in Palo Alto, California. Five engineers and scientists began questioning humanity’s trajectory. Recognizing the need for a concerted effort to establish sustainable culture, the SAGE Mindset framework was introduced in 2017. Since then, the club has gradually grown, first by establishing a SAGE club at UCLA, expanding within its original company, and within the Unitarian Universalist community.
SAGE Mindset is a grassroots effort to help people move from an age defined by endless growth and self-interest toward one guided by life, love, and wisdom. Through simple practices — seeing clearly, acting wisely, growing personally, engaging gracefully, and realizing wisdom — SAGE offers a shared way of thinking that anyone can bring into their school, workplace, or community. There's nothing to buy and nothing to join — just a mindset worth practicing.
Check it out. Come as you are. Become the best (and most sustainable) version of yourself in a supportive community. If you get something out of the SAGE Mindset and Club:
