Stainless Steel Sink, Stainless Steel Wire Wool, Ink, Acetate

Throughout her Residency year she has been answering the  question 'What is Super Ordinary'?

"How should we take account of, question and describe what happens everyday and recurs everyday: the banal, the quotidian, the obvious, the common, the ordinary, the infra-ordinary… the habitual?" (Georges Perec, 1973)

By questioning everything, every detail, every feeling and her own human behaviour Sage has had realisations about herself and her childhood. Through her artistic process this year she has begun to understand where her long term mental health problems have stemmed from. This discovery will continue to influence her future work as a practising artist.

As part of this exhibition Sage has created a limited edition zine, 'The Background Noise'.
