About Me

I am Safkat Islam, a recent Mechanical Engineering graduate from KUET, Khulna, actively seeking advanced opportunities at the Master's or Doctorate level in Mechanical Engineering. As a self-identified novice researcher, I'm driven to excel in interdisciplinary computational solid mechanics & fracture mechanics. I worked as an assistant public media & relations officer in 'CADERS' the Design Engineering Club of my university.

My undergraduate thesis was "Numerical Investigation of Stress Field Near the Vertex of a 3D Three Layer Elastic Bonded Joint", supervised by Prof. Dr. Md. Shahidul Islam, ME, KUET. We used ABAQUS CAE, IGOR Pro & MATLAB software for the thesis. Besides that, I have worked on several projects such as " Thermo-Mechanical Stresses of Two Layered Composite Cylindrical Pressure Vessel Using FEA", "Simulation of High Impact Velocity of a Bullet to Steel Plate in LS-Dyna", and "FEM Modeling for Piezoelectric (PZT-5A) Energy Harvester".

My research interests are Computational & Experimental Solid Mechanics, Fracture & Joints, Composites, Piezoelectric Energy Harvesting, Multiscale Modeling of composites, and impact & crash analysis.
