SafeVote is a community-powered parental controls extension for Google Chrome. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Family pairing code — a 6-character code linking parent and child devices. Not linked to your name or email.
Blocked site attempts — when a blocked site is visited, the domain and timestamp are stored under your family code so the parent dashboard can display them.
Community flag counts — when you report a site, an anonymous flag count is incremented. No personal information is attached.
Local settings — your PIN, category preferences, and blocklist are stored locally in Chrome storage. We do not have access to these.
We do not collect your name, email address, or any account information.
We do not track browsing history beyond blocked site attempts.
We do not sell or share any data with third parties.
We do not display advertisements.
We use Google Firebase (Firestore) to sync data between parent and child devices. Firebase's privacy policy applies: firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
SafeVote is designed to protect children online. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Only blocked domain names are stored — no personal details.
Use the "Remove SafeVote" button in settings to delete your local data. Firebase data associated with your family code will be cleared within 30 days of inactivity.
SafeVote is currently in beta. Features and data handling may change. We will update this policy if anything material changes.
