S3 safety shoes - It's time to step up your game

S3 safety shoes are officially recognised by the Workplace Safety and Health Agency (WSHA) as suitable for use in the workplace, making them an excellent choice to work in high-risk environments where puncture resistance and non-conductivity are key. Now you may be thinking that S3 safety shoes sound great, but you’re wondering if they can be used as your everyday work shoes. The answer is yes!

Penetration resistant shoes

penetration resistance is a great asset when we are working with sharp materials. During regular shoe production there is little more that can be done, but S3 and S4 have additional puncture resistant material on parts of their sole, ensuring that dangerous objects do not pierce through. This gives you more protection than usual shoes against sharp nails, broken glass and other penetrating objects. The fact that they don’t need to be oiled means they last longer than any other safety footwear out there today too! S3 – All of the features as S2, plus midsole penetration resistance meaning that these shoes are puncture proof. For example, a steel midsole prevents sharp objects from piercing through the sole.

Durable Footwear

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is responsible for setting workplace standards on many issues, including foot protection. While there are no specific OSHA regulations regarding footwear, they do have a set of guidelines to help employers ensure that their workers are wearing safe shoes. This guideline recommends that employers supply each employee with comfortable, serviceable and properly fitting non-slip work boots or shoes that protect against impact from falling or rolling objects.

Sharp Objects

Safety S1, S2 and S3 is all about foot protection. Foot injuries in the workplace can be crippling or fatal. The first line of defense against sharp objects penetrating our feet is footwear.

Hazardous Areas

Simply put, if you are working in an area with high risk of exposure to hazards then you need S3 safety shoes. For example working in conditions such as oil and gas exploration, construction sites or any industry which requires you to enter potentially hazardous areas then it is necessary for you to wear protective footwear such as steel toe capped boots.
