Please read these Terms of Use ("Terms") carefully before using SafeScan ("the App"), developed by SafeScan team ("we," "us," or "our").
By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Description of Service
SafeScan is a security tool that helps users detect potentially hidden cameras and suspicious devices using:
• Camera-based infrared and reflection detection
• Magnetic field anomaly detection
• Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device scanning
• Local network (LAN) device scanning and analysis
• Internet speed testing
• Compass and directional guidance
SafeScan is available as a free, ad-supported version and as an ad-free Premium subscription.
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use SafeScan only for lawful purposes. You may use the App to:
• Scan your own property or accommodations (e.g., hotel rooms, rental properties) for hidden surveillance devices.
• Analyze your own local network for unauthorized or suspicious devices.
• Test your own internet connection speed.
You agree NOT to use the App to:
• Scan networks or properties without authorization from the owner.
• Engage in any activity that violates local, state, national, or international laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to devices, networks, or systems.
• Interfere with or disrupt any network or connected device.
3. No Guarantee of Detection
SafeScan is provided as a security assistance tool. We do not guarantee that the App will detect all hidden cameras, surveillance devices, or network threats. Detection capabilities depend on device hardware, environmental conditions, and the nature of the target device. The App should be used as one component of a broader security approach and is not a substitute for professional security inspection services.
4. Subscriptions and Purchases
Some features of the App require an active subscription ("Premium Access"). SafeScan offers the following auto-renewing subscription plans:
• Weekly Premium – 1 week
• Monthly Premium – 1 month
• Annual Premium – 1 year
Subscriptions are billed through Apple’s App Store and are subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. Prices vary by region and are displayed in the app prior to purchase. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
To manage or cancel your subscription, go to Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device. Refunds are handled by Apple according to their standard refund policy.
Premium Access also removes all advertising from the App. If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, ads resume in the free version.
5. Advertising
The free version of SafeScan is supported by third-party advertising served through Google AdMob. By using the free version, you agree to receive banner and full-screen ads within the App.
• Rewarded ads are optional. You may choose to watch a short rewarded ad in exchange for a bonus use of a Premium-gated feature. You are never required to watch an ad, and watching one is not a substitute for a subscription. Bonus uses are limited, may be capped per day, and may be changed or discontinued at any time.
• Ad availability is not guaranteed. Ads, including rewarded ads, may not always be available, and we do not guarantee that any ad, reward, or bonus use will load or be granted.
• We do not endorse advertisers. Ads are provided by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of ads or for any products, services, or websites they promote. Any dealings with advertisers are solely between you and the advertiser.
• Removing ads. Upgrading to Premium Access removes all advertising.
Advertising involves the collection and processing of certain device and usage data by Google and its partners. See our Privacy Policy for details and for your choices regarding tracking and personalized ads.
6. Intellectual Property
All content, features, and functionality of SafeScan — including but not limited to design, code, graphics, and user interface — are owned by SafeScan team and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer any part of the App.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We do not warrant that:
• The App will detect all hidden cameras or surveillance devices.
• Network scanning results will be complete or accurate.
• Speed test results will reflect exact network performance.
• The App will function without interruption or errors.
• Ads, rewarded ads, or bonus feature uses will be available, load correctly, or be free of errors.
8. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SAFESCAN TEAM SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, ARISING FROM:
• Your use or inability to use the App.
• Any undetected surveillance devices or security threats.
• Actions taken based on scan results or speed test data.
• Unauthorized access to your data or devices.
• Advertising content shown in the App, or any products or services offered by third-party advertisers.
9. Network Scanning Responsibility
You acknowledge that network scanning features actively probe devices on your local network. You accept full responsibility for ensuring you have proper authorization to scan any network you connect to. Unauthorized network scanning may violate applicable laws.
10. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services (speed test servers, IP lookup services, subscription management, and — in the free version — advertising and consent-management services provided by Google). These services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of these third-party services.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or third parties.
12. Opt-out consent
If we receive a refund request for an in-app purchase, we may provide Apple with information about the user’s in-app purchase activity. This could include details such as time since app installation, total app usage time, an anonymous account identifier, whether the in-app purchase was fully consumed, whether it included a trial period, the total amount spent, and the total amount refunded.
13. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms at any time by updating this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
