Our Story / From the Founder

Safe N Proud was born from a simple but powerful truth: too many immigrant workers are left to navigate unsafe systems alone.

As the founder, my journey gives me a personal connection to this cause. I’m a 21-year-old from Nigeria, and I’ve always wanted to explore the world and see how other people live. I studied computer science at university, but due to personal reasons, I had to step away and focus on other career paths with building my business.

Being part of a persecuted minority here as a gay man, I know firsthand the dangers of living in a place where your identity is criminalized. I’ve experienced arrest and the fear that comes with being part of a marginalized community. These personal experiences fueled my desire to find safety and a better life—not just for myself, but for others like me.

Through my research and conversations with immigrant workers, I became aware of the struggles they face: low pay, unsafe working conditions, lack of benefits, discrimination, and the constant fear of losing their livelihoods if they speak up. Many travel abroad seeking a better life, only to find exploitation, injustice, and hardship.

Seeing these realities and reflecting on my own experiences, I realized I could make a difference. I’ve always been empathetic and emotionally driven, and I wanted to create a platform that gives immigrant workers a voice, protects their rights, and ensures they can work with dignity and safety.

Safe N Proud was created to be a safe, accessible space where workers can find guidance, support, and clarity. Our mission is rooted in the belief that knowledge is protection, and when people understand their rights and options, they can move with confidence and pride.

This platform is not just about resources—it’s about standing with workers, advocating for accountability, and building a community where dignity and safety come first.
