**Last updated:** [April 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how **Sad Quotes Images** (“we”, “us”, or “the app”) handles information when you use our mobile application on iOS.
By using the app, you agree to this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
---
## 1. Who we are
**Data controller / publisher:** ALILOU DIGITAL LTD
**Contact:** contact@alilou.uk
**App name:** Sad Quotes Images
For questions about this policy or your data, contact us at the email above.
---
## 2. Summary
- The app is designed to browse quotes and images, create cards, save favorites locally, and share content.
- We use **Google AdMob** to show advertisements.
- On supported devices and where required, we may request **App Tracking Transparency** permission to use your device’s advertising identifier for **personalized ads**, as described in your system prompt and below.
- We use **OneSignal** to support **optional push notifications** (e.g. updates or reminders), if you allow notifications.
- Saving images to your **Photos** library only happens when you choose to save, and iOS will ask for photo access when needed.
- We do not require you to create an account in the app to use core features.
---
## 3. Information the app processes
### 3.1 Data on your device (local)
- **Favorites and preferences** you set inside the app may be stored on your device (for example, favorite images or messages).
- **Text or layouts** you enter when creating a card are processed on your device unless you share them yourself through another app.
We do not operate a social network or public profile inside this app.
### 3.2 Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app displays ads provided by **Google LLC** through the **Google Mobile Ads SDK (AdMob)**. Google may collect and process information such as:
- Device identifiers (including the **advertising identifier (IDFA)** on Apple devices **when you allow tracking** under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt, and as permitted by your settings)
- IP address and general location (e.g. region or city level)
- App interaction data related to ads (e.g. impressions, clicks)
- Diagnostic and performance data
AdMob uses this data to show and measure ads, limit fraud, and improve advertising services. Depending on your choices and Google’s policies, some data may be used for **personalized advertising** or **measurement across apps and websites owned by other companies**, which Apple defines as **tracking** when it meets Apple’s criteria.
**Google’s policies:**
- [Google Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy)
- [How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services](https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites)
You can limit ad personalization on your device through **Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking** and **Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising** (labels may vary by iOS version).
### 3.3 App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
The app includes **`NSUserTrackingUsageDescription`**. When the system shows Apple’s tracking permission dialog, the text explains that the identifier may be used to **deliver personalized ads** (see the in-app system message for the exact wording).
- If you **allow** tracking, advertising partners (such as Google) may access the **IDFA** subject to their policies and your device settings.
- If you **do not allow** tracking, we still respect your choice; ads may still appear but personalization across apps/websites may be limited as allowed by Apple and the ad SDK.
We do not control third-party SDKs beyond our integration; their processing is governed by their own policies.
### 3.4 Push notifications (OneSignal)
If you grant **notification** permission, **OneSignal** (operated by OneSignal, Inc.) may process data needed to deliver push messages, such as a **push token**, **device identifiers**, and **aggregated usage** related to notification delivery. OneSignal’s processing is described in their privacy documentation.
**OneSignal:** [OneSignal Privacy Policy](https://onesignal.com/privacy_policy)
You can turn off notifications at any time in **iOS Settings → Sad Quotes Images → Notifications**.
### 3.5 Photo library
When you choose to **save** an image or card to your library, iOS may request **Photo Library** access. We use this only to complete the save you requested. We do not require full access to your photo library for basic browsing.
### 3.6 Sharing to other apps
When you use **Share**, the app may open other apps (for example messaging or social apps) using URLs allowed on your device. Those services have their own privacy policies; we do not control what you send or how those apps handle it.
---
## 4. Legal bases (if applicable)
If laws such as the **GDPR** apply, we rely on:
- **Consent** where required (for example, tracking permission on iOS, notification permission, or photo access when prompted by the system)
- **Legitimate interests** where allowed (for example, fraud prevention, security, and improving the app), balanced against your rights
Where consent is withdrawn (e.g. disable tracking or notifications), we respect that within the limits of the platform and third-party SDKs.
---
## 5. Children’s privacy
The app is not directed at children under **13** (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for targeted advertising. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app in a way that concerns you, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to help.
---
## 6. Retention and security
- Data held **only on your device** remains until you delete the app or clear app data, subject to iOS behavior.
- Data held by **Google**, **OneSignal**, or other partners is retained according to **their** policies.
We use reasonable measures to build and distribute the app securely, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
---
## 7. International transfers
If you are outside the country where we operate, your information may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). Those transfers are subject to applicable law and the safeguards described in providers’ policies.
---
## 8. Your choices and rights
Depending on your region, you may have rights to **access**, **correct**, **delete**, **restrict**, or **object** to certain processing, or to **withdraw consent**. Because much of the data is processed by **Google** and **OneSignal** on their own systems, you may also exercise options they provide (for example, Google’s ad settings).
To exercise rights against **us** as the app publisher, email **contact@alilou.uk** with your request and enough detail for us to verify and respond.
---
## 9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version at the same URL (or in the app / store listing) and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy, except where applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
---
## 10. Apple App Store
Apple may display **App Privacy** details based on our disclosures in App Store Connect. Those labels are designed to summarize data practices; this policy is the fuller explanation. If you have questions about a specific label, contact us.
