Background: I wanted to create something in a style I like and so I started finding images with a 'gamer/technology' feel to them and comparing them. This piece was just for enjoyment in a style I have wanted to try out. I chose black and white so I could use an image I liked but that was very colorful.

Contrast: The light gray text is the middle ground with the least contrast, and also the least important. The white text is the most important information and so it contrasts the black background the most. I added some organic shapes and star confetti in low opacity gray to not create too much contrast, but still visual movement.

Repetition: The color palette is consistent and the fonts are used multiple times. I tried to use more fonts than I have ever done (just for fun) and felt that, by repeating the fonts, they all work out together.

Alignment and Visual Hierarchy: I used a left alignment because the text was on the right side, and I wanted it to lead over to the text with the date on the left side. I center aligned the top text because it is not necessary to the main image and is the first thing the eye sees, preparing you for a heavy focus on the center of the graphic.

Proximity: I used proximity in overlapping the text areas and keeping it all very close to the woman. The outer text is more sperate, but less contributing knowledge.

Color Scheme: I kept a black and white color scheme because the original image was very vibrant and I didn't want to use any of the red and oranges in it. This works because I used both gray and white text to add emphasis.
