Working Rally
Every Branch organises Training sessions for their Members. These are normally called Working Rallies. Saddleworth usually hold these working rallies on the first Tuesday of each month.
In May-September these rallies are outdoor rallies normally held on the Pony Club Field.
In October-April they are unmounted are held at Saddleworth Rangers Rugby Club.
Outdoor Rally
This rally is mounted (on your pony). You will be placed in a “ride”. Your ride is the group of children with whom you will be sharing an instructor. Most training sessions start with a tack inspection – so make sure that your tack it is clean and in good condition before you go! Normal attire is beige/cream jodphurs Pony Club Sweatshirt, Shirt and Pony Club Tie, hats, jodphur boots etc.
Indoor Rally
Again you will be placed in groups sharing an instructor and will be trained on such things as stable management, how to care for your ponies etc. At indoor rallies you usually wear your Pony Club Sweatshirt but any trousers and clean shoes are to be worn (no dirty yard boots or wellies!).
Additional Rallies
Throughout the year we also run specific additional rallies covering the various disciplines eg Show Jumping, X-country, Mounted Games, Horse & Pony Care (Competition Training) etc which are advertised via the website, WhatsApp and the Facebook page.

Training sessions are the best way to improve your riding and to learn how to look after your pony. You will learn lots of new skills and have the opportunity to take tests, for which special certificates and badges are awarded .
