Dr. Suzanne Gordon joined SACSA and found her professional home in 1975. An active member, she served on the Scholars Program, the Foundation Board, the Journal Review Board, both the New Professionals and Mid Managers Institute, the Professional Development Committee, the Programs Committee and elected President in 1985-1986. She was also an active member in NASPA serving as VP of NASPA Region IV West and a number of NASPA regional and national committees, and President in1995-1996. She is one of the few, if not the only professional to be elected president of both associations!
Dr. Gordon was professionally prepared at Youngstown, Kent State, and Florida State University under the guidance of Dr. Melvene Hardee. Dr. Gordon also completed the Harvard Institute of Educational Management. Over her stellar career she held several positions: Interim Associate Vice Chancellor at UNC Greensboro, UW Whitewater, and Southern Oregon at Ashland. She also served as Interim Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs, and Dean of Students and Associate Professor at the university of Arkansas (retired in 1982,) Dean of Students at Mary Washington University at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, Associate Dean of Students at Southwestern University, Georgetown, TX, as well as Waynesburg College (PA.)
