המשותף לכולם הוא שמדובר בשירים המהללים את הבורא או את הבריאה שלו, על שלל ביטוייה השונים.

חלקם שירי הלל לבורא,

חלקם שירי הלל לאיתני הבריאה, כגון כוחות הטבע והיקום,

חלקם שירי הלל לחיות ולחיבור המקודש שלהן לבוראן,

וחלקם שירי הלל לנפש האנושית, הרגש והחיבור לכוח העליון.

שירים כאלו נכתבו בתרבויות רבות עתיקות לאורך ההיסטוריה, חלקם דתיים וחלקם לא.

What is sacred singing or sacred songs?

There are several types of songs under the umbrella of "sacred poetry":

What they all have in common is that these are songs that praise the Creator \ God or His creation, for its various expressions.

Some of them are songs of praise to the Creator \ God,

Some of them are songs of praise to the forces of creation, such as the forces of nature and the universe,

Some of them are songs of praise to animals and their sacred connection to the Creator \ God,

And some of them are songs of praise for the human soul, emotion and connection to the supreme power.

Such poems were written in many ancient cultures throughout history, some religious and some not.
