What the Project Is

TThe Sacred Secrets Project is a research-based initiative grounded in the doctoral entheogenic work of Dr. Barend R. Honiball, D.Div. — a researcher who undertook near-death psychedelic states as formal study, documented what was found, and built a transpersonal framework for integrating it.

It brings together direct personal experience, academic research, transpersonal psychology, and symbolic analysis — to offer a structured way of making sense of what most frameworks cannot contain.

The Gap This Project Addresses

AMany people have profound experiences — and are left without a framework to understand them. Clinical psychology explains the brain but not the depth of what was lived. Spiritual traditions may point toward meaning but often lack practical integration. Peer communities validate but cannot structure.

This creates a gap between what is experienced and what can be understood or applied. The Sacred Secrets Project exists to bridge that gap — through research, through the book, and through the free resources available here.

A Note on the Language

This project uses the word God — and that deserves honest address. In this framework, God does not refer to the God of doctrine or organized religion. It refers to the infinite intelligence that breathes through all existence. What some call Source. What others call consciousness, the field, or the presence that was simply there when you arrived.

The research explicitly dismantles organized religion as an outer shell — and reaches for what was always inside it. Whatever name you use for what you encountered in your experience — you will find it here, under that name.
