Children and Youth

Enrollment in First Sacraments preparation (for First Confession and First Communion) requires at least a year of faith formation classes prior to the year of immediate sacramental preparation. Please note that immediate sacramental preparation and faith formation classes require separate registration forms. Complete registration requires a birth certificate and baptism certificate.

St. Luke’s Youth Confirmation Program proper is a yearlong process typically beginning in the 2nd semester of one’s sophomore year and ending with the reception of the sacrament, in November of one’s Junior year. The program is open to all baptized Catholics who are sophomores or juniors in high school. At least one year of faith formation prior to the immediate sacramental prep. and enrollment in the current formation classes are prerequisites. (If you enroll in Youth Confirmation too late, we will not be able to accommodate you before you graduate from high school. In this case you can still be confirmed but in the Adult Confirmation Program. (Click here for Adult Confirmation.) Attendance at Youth Confirmation Classes requires prior registration; contact the Director of Youth Faith Formation, Ben Hernandez: childministry@stlukescatholic.com or (281-481-6816 ext. 225 for the next Youth Confirmation Preparation dates and for registration. You may alternately contact our Youth Ministry Coordinator, Kate Court: youthministry@stlukescatholic.com or 281-481-6816, ext. 210. Complete registration requires a copy of his or her birth certificate, as well as a recently made copy of the his or her baptism certificate, and a completed sponsor form.

The RCIA process is designed for children or youth who have either not been baptized before turning seven, or who have been baptized but in a non-Catholic setting. Registration for the RCIA (children’s Baptism, Confirmation and/or First Communion) require attendance at RCIA Classes. To register for these classes, contact the Coordinator of Children’s RCIA, Alma Cervantes, (713-987-9189 or 832-671-0100) for the next RCIA Preparation dates and for registration.
