This project develops an advanced multimodal sensing platform integrating LiDAR, radar, camera, acoustic array and autonomous rover systems for accurate detection and classification of chemical and biological threats in complex subterranean environments. The project aims to enhance situational awareness by fusing spatial mapping from LiDAR, micro-Doppler signatures from radar, and autonomous mobility provided by rover platforms. Through realistic data collection and rigorous testing, it provides practical guidelines on optimal sensor combinations for effective threat detection, balancing accuracy and efficiency to support first responders and military operations.
