I am Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics (DIMA), University of Genova, within the MIDA group.
My research activity is focused on developing and applying advanced mathematical methods to address different problems in many scientific interdisciplinary areas, with a particular focus on space weather. Solar image reconstruction, solar flares and Coronal Mass Ejections forecasting, precipitation nowcasting on extreme events are some of key applications of my reasearch.
The main topics of my research activity are
Inverse problems
Machine and deep learning
Image reconstruction
Regularization, optimization and sparsity-enhancing methods
Evaluation metrics for forecast models
Group member
2022-Present: member of Space Weather Italian Community (SWICo)
2017-Present: member of Gruppo Nazionale del Calcolo Scientifico (GNCS)
