Second Runner-up in DU ai challenge

Team "The Vinci Club" became the second runner up in the computer vision challenge. This intensive 8-hour computer vision competition challenged participants to build AI models for detecting and classifying traffic objects, like vehicles and pedestrians, CNG ; in high-resolution drone footage from Bangladesh's bustling streets. The dataset featured 11 classes, including unique local vehicles such as CNG auto-rickshaws, legunas, and cycle rickshaws, with dense scenes averaging 33 objects per image. Our approach? We tried an ensemble of YOLO models (v5l, v8l, and v9c) with Non-Maximum Suppression for robust predictions, enhanced by CLAHE preprocessing for better contrast in aerial images, strategic data augmentation, and a custom training pipeline.
