About me:
I am a assistant professor in Smart Sustainable energy Markets, Faculty of Management, Economics, and Social Sciences, University of Cologne. I am also a lecturer giving the course Applied Mathematical Optimization for PhD/MS student. The course covers required knowledge on energy markets and mathematical optimization techniques.
I received a PhD in electrical and computer engineering from Portugal in 2019 and my doctoral dissertation aimed to investigate proper market schemes to implement demand side management considering different market players.
After Completing the PhD, I joined the grid planning and operation division of Fraunhofer Institute for Energy Economics and Energy System Technology as a consultant and scientific researcher to deal with the operation challenges of future power grids with high penetration of renewable resources within European projects.
I've had the chance to spend sometimes as a visiting scholar at North China Electric Power University, and also European Distributed Energy Resources Laboratories, Germany.
My current focus is digitalization of energy demand side with aim of decarbonization. Enabaling prosumers within citizen energy community concept is one of solutions. Beside, algorithmic marketplaces for local trading is also studied for a successful bottom-up operation of energy systems. A summary of our team's research activities is introduced in the video below:
