Bio-diesel from tannery beam house waste is an alternate & sustainable approach against limited fuel reservoirs. In this study, tannery fleshing waste (TFW) was converted into biodiesel (BD) by the transesterification process and characterized. TFW was a major content of extra fat from hides and skins. Transesterification, a chemical procedure used in the synthesis of biodiesel, includes reacting organic material with alcohol, like ethanol, and a catalyst, such as sulfuric acid, to create biodiesel and glycerol. To evaluate the quality of synthesized BD, the flash point, calorific value, viscosity, density acid value, and iodine value were performed. In addition, the qualitative parameters were compared with previous and conventional biodiesel. We found a similar flash point of 148oC to the conventional one. However, pure natural diesel (ND) had the lowest flash point (48oC and calorific value (39.42 MJ/Kg). Thus, the partial mixture of biodiesel with ND in various compression Engines (VCR) got 28% of the complete analysis of combustion efficiency. The end product had fueled capacity without any changes or extra additives like nanoparticles that could be the best choice for local market demand.

Abstract: This study presents the development and characterization of bio composite films composed of chitosan, gelatin, and PVA in an optimized ratio of 85:5:10 (PVA-CS: SF-TA: Gelatin) for potential applications in wound dressing and foot healthcare. The films underwent rigorous analysis, including FT-IR spectroscopy, XRD analysis, and comprehensive assessments of mechanical and physical properties, as well as antibacterial and cell cytotoxicity tests. FT-IR spectra confirmed the absence of chemical reactions between components, ensuring successful material integration. The optimized composition exhibited outstanding mechanical properties, featuring a tensile strength of 94.58 MPa, hardness shore of 54, and elongation at break of 4.91. Additionally, the water vapor permeability rate at 8.09% showcased favorable characteristics. Antimicrobial tests substantiated the films' efficacy in suppressing bacterial growth, while cell cytotoxicity tests confirmed conducive conditions for cell growth within this composite film. These findings collectively underscore the versatile potential of these bio composite films, emphasizing their suitability for wound care and foot health applications. They suggest promising avenues for further exploration in the realm of biomedical materials, where the films could contribute to advancements in effective wound management and foot healthcare practices.
Hydrogels are three-dimensional, water-absorbing polymers with a structure that resembles natural tissue. They have excellent moisture-retention properties, which create a moist environment conducive to wound healing. This moisture helps in reducing pain, preventing wound desiccation, and promoting the migration of cells involved in the healing process.
