President
Hi everyone! I’m Liz Giddings, and I’m so excited to be your PTA President this year!

I’m a mom of four, and my son Dhayne is part of the CSS program here at Sabal Palm. Our journey has opened my eyes to just

how important inclusion is and how much of a difference it makes when kids and families have the right support around them.

That’s really why I joined PTA. Through our journey with Dhayne, I’ve learned how overwhelming it can be for parents to navigate

IEPs, understand the system, and figure out how to get the support your child needs. There are a lot of roadblocks along the way,

and sometimes you don’t even know what you don’t know. I want to use what I’ve learned to help make that road a little easier for

other families, while creating a school community where every child feels seen, included, supported, and part of the whole Sabal

Palm experience. Whether your child is in CSS, general education, or anywhere in between, I want every kid to feel like they belong

here and every parent to feel like they have a voice.

Outside of PTA, I’ve spent more than 20 years in logistics and sales, so solving problems, bringing people together, and figuring

out how to make things happen is pretty much my everyday life. Which I guess makes PTA a pretty natural fit!

I’m really looking forward to getting to know more of you, trying some new things, and making this a really fun year for our kids

and our families. I’m sure there will be a little chaos along the way, but that’s usually when the best stories come from anyway!

Amber

Secretary | VP of Inclusion

Hi! My name is Amber Christensen, and I am the new PTA secretary and VP of inclusion, a new role we

are excited to make part of the PTA. I am a stay at home mom to my son Brantley, who is in 1st here at

Sabal Palm, and River who is my toddler. We moved from Washington state in early May of this year

and are happy to say Jacksonville is now our home.

My son Brantley is really my driving force to wanting to be involved in PTA. He was born with spina

bifida and is differently abled. You may have seen him zooming around the school in his blue

wheelchair, or popping a wheelie in his chair. If he has taught me anything in life its this: nothing is

impossible, just may look different from what others experience.

My goal as part of this PTA is to ensure that these events and our school, is a place that is welcoming

and accessible to all who choose to come. I am so excited to see what this year has in store for us all!

Khiara

Treasurer

Hi, my name is Khiara Craft, and I am proud to serve as your PTA treasurer this year. I have a

daughter in first grade here at Sabal Palm and an older daughter that turns 20 later this year! By

day, I work for Chase Bank as a mortgage underwriter and have been in that industry for over 24

years, so I have a vast understanding of finances and quality control measures to help me in

this role. I joined the PTA to step outside of my own comfort zone and hermit crab life to lend

my knowledge and skills to help the littles have a great school year experience! I love a good

chill afternoon at home, hunting for hidden-gem music playlists on Pandora or getting lost in a

true-crime novel or documentary.

VP of Events

Hi! My name is Colletia Hawkins, and I’m the VP of Volunteers for our PTA. I’m a mom of

three—my 19-year-old, who attended Sabal Palm for all five years of elementary school,

my 8-year-old son in 3rd grade, and my daughter in 2nd grade.

I work in the nursing field. I have been involved with the PTA for the past few years. This

year, I decided to take the next step and join the PTA Board. I’ve always been an active

mom who loves volunteering and supporting my children in school, sports, extracurricular

activities, and anything they’re involved in. I’m excited to continue serving our school and

supporting our students and families!

Ashleigh

VP of Fundraising

I am Ashleigh, VP of Fundraising!

My two children, Kendall and Mason, attend Sabal, and they are my biggest "why." Seeing

them grow, learn, and thrive here inspires me to invest my time and energy into creating

opportunities that benefit all students.

Galatians 5:13 reminds me to "serve one another humbly in love," and that verse guides

my commitment to giving back to our school community. Through fundraising and my

volunteer efforts, my goal is to help provide resources and experiences that enrich the

lives of every child at Sabal while fostering a spirit of connection and support among

families.
