Dr. Abu Saad Aquuel Ahmad Ansari
Dr. Abu Saad Aqueel Ahmad Ansari is the Group Leader of Functional Nano Materials, Director of Technology, and Vice Director of CoE Applied Nanotechnology Nano Center Indonesia, where he leads cutting-edge research in functional nanomaterials, extractive materials, density functional theory, coatings technology, and nanobubble technology. A prolific scientist with over 60 published articles, his work has been recognized in top-tier journals, including a cover feature in the Journal of Physical Chemistry C (2020) and a featured article in the Journal of Chemical Physics (2019), which was also highlighted in Scilight. His innovations have been patented (US20230227972A1), underscoring his contributions to coatings technology.
Dr. Saad holds a PhD in Physics (2016) from Savitribai Phule Pune University, where he also completed his Bachelor’s (2006) and Master’s (2008) in Physics and Materials Science, respectively. He further honed his expertise as a postdoctoral researcher in the Interface Design Lab at Hongik University under the supervision of Prof. Bonggeun Shong, where he worked until 2021 before assuming leadership at Nano Center Indonesia.
Combining theoretical depth (density functional theory) and industrial applications (catalysis, coatings, nanobubbles), Dr. Saad bridges fundamental research with real-world solutions. His multidisciplinary approach and commitment to innovation position him as a key figure in advancing nanomaterials science and technology in Indonesia and beyond.
