Dr. Saad Ullah Khan

I am a Senior Lecturer in Electrical Engineering at Birmingham City University (BCU). I am affiliated with Department of Engineering at the School of Architecture, Built Environment, Computing and Engineering (ABCE). 

My research endeavours, undertaken in collaboration with my graduate students and research group, encompass a comprehensive and multidimensional approach aimed at fostering a resilient and sustainable power grid. This expansive research agenda concentrates on addressing complex challenges, including:

• Optimizing power scheduling and control through the application of cutting-edge computational techniques and predictive models

• Mitigating uncertainties introduced by Electric Vehicle (EV) charging and renewable energy sources

• Enhancing grid cybersecurity by leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) capabilities

• Ensuring financial stability within the power sector

• Identifying and addressing power system vulnerabilities

Through this research, we strive to develop innovative solutions that promote a robust, efficient, and sustainable power grid for the future.
