In 2016, a report published by the Kronkosky organization (link: Capital Health Report) identified a large gap between demand for autism services and available providers in the San Antonio Area. The gap results in long wait times for those seeking diagnostic and behavior analytic services. The San Antonio Applied Behavior Analysis Project (SAABA) was established in 2016 as a collaborative effort between the Autism Treatment Center, The Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, and the University of Texas at San Antonio – Department of Education Psychology (located within the College of Education and Human Development) to address this issue. Our goal is to streamline communication between service providers, reduce barriers to for diagnosis, reduce the wait time between diagnosis and treatment and provide comprehensive services to the individuals we serve.
