DEMO Installation & User Guide

1. Download the Application

Click the download link provided on the DEMO page and download the ZIP file from Google Drive to your computer.

2. Extract the ZIP File

Locate the downloaded ZIP file, right-click it, and select Extract All (Windows) or use your preferred extraction software. Choose a folder where you would like the application to be stored.

3. Install the Application

Open the extracted folder and double-click SASchoolsExamTimer_Demo.exe (the installer file provided). Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

4. Launch the Exam Timer

After installation, double-click the SA Schools Exam Timer shortcut on your desktop or open it from the Start Menu.

5. Add Exam Panels

Use Add Exam to create up to four exam timers. The layout automatically adjusts based on the number of active exams.

6. Configure an Exam

For each exam panel:

1. Select the Phase (GET or FET).

2. Select the Grade.

3. Choose the Subject.

4. Confirm or adjust the automatically populated subject code and exam duration.

5. Enable/Disable 10-Minute Reading Time by clicking on the option.

6. Click Start Countdown/ Start all to begin the countdown.

7. Running Multiple Exams

Each timer runs independently and can be started individually or together using Start All. The display shows the grade, subject code, and remaining time for each exam.

8. Understanding Timer Colours

• Green – Reading time in progress

• Yellow – More than 30 minutes remaining

• Orange – Less than 30 minutes remaining

• White – Less than 10 minutes remaining

9. Resetting Timers

• Use Reset on an individual panel to stop and reconfigure a single exam.

• Use Reset All to stop all timers and prepare for the next session.

Tips

• Set up all exams before learners enter the venue.

• Use Start All when multiple exams begin simultaneously.

• Position the display where all learners can clearly see the countdown.

• The application supports up to four simultaneous exam timers on a single screen.

• Adjust your screen resolution to make all the timers fit the screen
