This product only works with S2 Pro Switches as minimum! Pro Switches and lights are NOT included!
S2 Directional Window for S2 Pro Lights
Online Manual Link (for this manual)
S2 Store Landmark
The window is intended to be used between two enclosed rooms, each room having S2 Pro Switch and Pro Light installed. The window works realistically using the rooms lights to affect the window reflection. This is scripted and no "advanced light model" is needed. This window works exclusively with S2 Pro Switches.
You need one room with lights on, the other room with lights off, to have a directional effect.
The window should be solid on the room the light is on, and transparent on the room the light is off.
If both rooms has lights on or off, with no difference between them, the window is transparent from both sides.
The glass effect is not adjustable.
This requires some intermediate building skills. As starting point, you need 2 rooms divided by the same wall. The wall must have a hole to place the window.
To make it easier, install your pro switches and lights first. Remember, these are not included with this product. Each room must operate independently but needs to be one linkset, all linked together. Consult S2 Pro Switches and lights manuals if needed.
You need one switch for each room (2 total). Give each switch a different LightID. Example: ROOM 1 - ROOM2
(Use ACCESS switches if going to use with the HD Access Control.) Place the switches where they will go.
It is recommended to have at least one Pro Light on each room. Make sure to set each light to the switch they belong to by matching the descriptions (Light ID), and touching the light to apply the description change. Place the lights where they will go.
You need to physically link both rooms Switches and Lights together, to end up with a single linkset. While in build mode, keep shift pressed and select both switches, and the lights for those switches, then press the LINK button on the build window.
Link order is not important unless you are using HD Access Control on your setup. If you are using access control, you would need to select the building, object, or the Access Control Hub, depending where the access control script and notecard is on your setup, LAST. Access Control won't work if the object where the script and access notecard is located, is not the root prim of the linkset. Alternatively, after you have set up your lights and switches, you can link everything to an access control hub or drop the script and notecard inside the linkset, to enable access control.
If everything is set correctly, both rooms lights should now turn on and off independently, but everything should be a single piece.
Once you have your Pro Switches and Lights, on both rooms, set up and working independently but as a single linkset, you can rez and place the window in its place, adjusting size and position as necessary.
Rez and make sure to have the window placed correctly in the wall hole, don't link it yet. Once linked, its more complicated to adjust.
On the window description (right click and edit) you will need to put both LightID's, one of each room/switch you already have installed, separated by a comma and space.
Example: ROOM1, ROOM2
Click/Touch the directional window to apply the description change.
Link the directional window to the linkset with the lights and switches, selecting the window first and the linkset with lights and switches last.
Test the window by using the switches. Please make sure to install it so when one room is on, and the other is off, the glass is solid on the room with the light on, and transparent on the room with the light off. If it is working backwards, you can simply rotate the window 180 degrees (half turn), or switch the LightID's on the directional window description. Example: ROOM2, ROOM1 - Remember to touch the window after changing the description.
The window is not scripted to customize itself, however, is made to be customized directly by the user. Textures for the window are not provided as it uses materials enabled textures, making it complex to change them. Changing the actual textures is not recommended unless you also change the material textures as well. Some basic building skills are required.
Use the viewer build window to change the color of frame, glass and decal. Make sure to checkmark "select surface" first, so you change just one surface and not the whole object. Can keep shift key pressed to select/deselect multiple faces.
The window has a decal in the bottom right corner, transparent as default.
Decal is on both sides equally, both sides will apply the same way (not independently).
You can make this decal visible and change it to one of your own. Press Ctrl+Alt+T to see invisible surfaces.
Aspect ratio for decal is 6:1 (example texture is wrong, I know)
There are no problems with resizing the window. Land impact might increase if made larger.
Being an item that works directly with S2 Pro Switches, will naturally work with HD Access Control if HD Access Control is being used with the switches.
Consult Pro Switches instructions for more.
The window technically only uses the S2 Pro Switches to work, and Pro Lights are not explicitly required, however, it is highly recommended using with S2 Pro Lights to achieve the intended effect. S2 Pro Lights requires an S2 Pro Switch to work.
If you just want to use this window without any working effect, you can simply remove the script inside and adjust the glass to your liking. You can make one of the sides 0% transparent for a constant one-side mirror. Of course, having no scripts means that doesn't needs anything else, but won't do anything as well.
The window does absolutely nothing: Window does nothing by itself. Must be used with S2 Pro Switch (minimum), and properly installed together.
The window is installed correctly with switches, but I don't see any difference: Maybe is changing on the other side you are not looking at.
Window does nothing when I click it : It does nothing when clicked unless you changed the description, then will just apply the new one and tell you.
The window is changing on the wrong side: Swap the light ID's on description, or simply rotate the window 180 degrees (half turn).
When a side is a mirror, I don't see any reflections: Proper mirror effects are not supported in Second Life.
Mesh and Textures: Seba Serpente
Scripting: Lares Carter
