Revision and Review ideas

End of topic review and Summary poster

This would have been assessment week. (see home page if you are unsure which topic you are on). Spend up to 40 minutes on each of the activities below this week, spreading them over 2 or 3 days. It helps if you stick to your home learning timetable.

1. Make flashcards using the learning outcomes (in the topic tabs) to test your knowledge.

Tip: It helps to put them into two piles; one where you know the statement and one where you don't. Count the ones you don't know. Check through summary notes from the Topic tabs and have a second go at the flash cards to see if you improve. Doing the cards first primes your brain for when you read the summary notes.

2. Try one or all of the following options:

  • make a mind map for the topic

  • make your own summary notes for all you have learned, trying from memory first.

  • try the homework tasks by clicking in the correct topic tab on this website.

3. Produce a poster showing all that you know on the topic or complete the Teams quiz. Try and do as much as you can from memory and see how you get on.

If you are making a poster you may want to do another mind-map. Or break the topic into different headings and write what you know. Try and include some diagrams if possible. You can do a traditional poster or an e-poster in any format you like. This can be handed in or emailed to your teacher. Alternatively you may wish to attached it to a post on Teams.
