About me

I'm Sam Looi (pronounced LOO-ee), a mathematician and recipient of the Taussky-Todd Fellowship at Caltech. I grew up in Singapore. My research is in mathematical analysis, particularly PDE and fluid dynamics, and operator and spectral theory.

In PDE, I study the long-time behavior of waves and questions of conservation, regularity, and uniqueness in fluid equations. In functional analysis, I study operators and inequalities for matrices, particularly how functions and geometry determine operator properties. I also work on AI for mathematics and proof formalization.
