R134a Refrigerant

R134a is an extremely common refrigerant used in a wide range of refrigeration and air conditioning applications, including medium and high temperature refrigeration (both domestic and commercial), residential & light air conditioning, automotive air conditioning and industrial applications such as centrifugal chillers.

R1234yf Refrigerant

R1234yf is a synthetic HFO refrigerant co-developed by DuPont and Honeywell as a successor to R134a for automotive air-conditioning applications. Years of intensive research were undertaken by the automotive industry to find a replacement for R134a, resulting in the selection of R1234yf as the new standard refrigerant for new systems. Compared with R134a, considerable upgrades to component quality and robustness, as well as compliance with a number of new SAE standards, have been engineered into R1234yf systems. The systems are designed to prevent potential refrigerant leakage into the cabin.

Blower motors

A growing number of cars use a brushless blower motor in the ventilation system. A brushless motor has fewer parts that wear, won’t make sparks as it runs, and its speed can be adjusted infinitely rather than just low-medium-high. A brushless-motor blower can be operated at extremely low speed to keep air moving through the cabin with minimal effect on cabin temperature. There’s also no blower motor resistor that requires cooling.

Condensers

The condenser is the other heat exchange in a mobile A/C system. Nowadays, condensers are usually made of aluminum, but in the past, some were made of copper/brass. Condensers look very much like radiators, just a little thinner, and since they also depend on air flowing through them, are usually located in front of the radiator.

Air Conditioner Filters

The air conditioner filter are one of the parts on the category of the filter which are mostly overlooked and are neglected because of their more popular and under the attention cousins like the fuel filter and air filter. Evaporators

The evaporator, also sometimes referred to as the evaporator core, is one heat exchangers in a mobile A/C system. Evaporators are usually made of aluminum. They look like, and in fact are, similar to radiators, only thicker and smaller in overall size. Like radiators, evaporators consist of a series of internal tubes or “flow paths” with fins attached to them. Air can pass freely through the fins, just like a radiator. But unlike a radiator, where the internal tubes carry moving engine coolant, the passages in the evaporator carry moving refrigerant.
