The "Grease" sign was a key project for this production. I opted to use a series of string lights, loaded with mirrored bulbs, as the entire sign was only one channel. As such, the lighting designer didn't need individual control over any one part of the sign, which meant it could be all chained together. We used one strand of 100' lights and two strands of 25' lights. This mixture of lengths was due to the overall load that each string could hold. I also built a three-fer that connected all three edison string lights to one stage pin connector. The cables were run up the lift lines and out of view of the audience.
