Helping with physical health
Working in a garden has been proven to increase physical health by providing body movement, exposure to vitamin D and fresh air, and increasing intake of fruits and vegetables.
Helping with mental health
Gardening can help mental health by reducing stress by giving individuals an activity to focus on.
It also gives gardeners a sense of accomplishment, improving one's self-esteem.
Making nutritional food more available
Ryder's Farm's main goal is to provide everyone better access to nutritional food. If someone lives in a place where access to nutritional food is hard, Ryder's Farm could fix that by supplying our crops to them.
Reduce food insecurity
How Ryder’s Farms is going to help by giving to the needy for example donate to a food pantry , donating to homeless shelters, and much more
According to https://www.nycfoodpolicy.org/“A growing body of research suggests that urban agriculture, including community gardens harvest nutritionally and economically meaningful amounts of nutritious food, which is especially valuable in areas where access to fresh fruits and vegetables are limited.”
