When I began as an instructional designer for a unit at Purdue, I realized everyone would benefit from a training plan.
After taking a few months to analyze everything and become familiar with all the pieces and parts, I prepared a comprehensive training plan that included an update of the website, reviewing current trainings to identify overlap and gaps, preparing supplementary materials, and more.
Unfortunately, I finalized this plan in mid-March 2020, when we all thought we would be working from home for just a few weeks. Ultimately, much of the plan was derailed due to the ongoing pandemic, all but ending in-person events. Additionally, in the summer of 2020, the university shifted learning management systems, which further altered the plan.
