I was working as an educational technology advisor for Purdue Extension. One of my primary objectives in that role was to present new ideas, whether software or a practice, that would reach and teach new audiences. I was asked to present at the professional development conference for Health & Human Sciences Extension Educators of Purdue Extension. While racking my brain to come up with something that would have an impact, I stumbled across microlearning. Microlearning was new, innovative, and fit perfectly with the organization.
Guided by my educational philosophy of accessible knowledge and skills that learners can immediately use, I wanted to present a topic to the educators that would allow them to rethink how they share content with the public. Below are the slides from both tracks along with a worksheet I made to help them create a one-minute long educational video to begin thinking about microlearning as an educational tool and method.
