If you want high-power, adjustable off-road illumination for night trails and construction sites, choose RYANSTAR RACING 4; if you need a reliable, plug-and-play safety upgrade to replace your missing or broken trailer hitch cover light, choose Raknaok 1. These two products sit in completely different corners of the towing accessory market, yet both claim to solve lighting problems for drivers who haul gear or tow heavy loads. One is a pair of powerful auxiliary driving pods designed to cut through darkness, while the other is a single integrated unit focused strictly on making your vehicle visible from behind when you are stopped or braking. I have analyzed the design specifications and intended use cases for both, and the choice comes down to whether you are trying to see the road ahead better or ensuring others can see you safely on the highway.
• RYANSTAR RACING 4: Delivers massive brightness with a spot and flood combo beam for long-distance visibility, but requires a separate wiring kit purchase and more complex installation. Best for off-roaders, contractors, and drivers needing active forward illumination.
• Raknaok 1: Offers immediate plug-and-play safety with a sealed ABS design for brake, turn, and reverse signals, but provides no forward lighting capability. Best for truck and SUV owners who simply need to meet DOT safety standards for rear visibility.
The RYANSTAR RACING 4 system is engineered for situations where standard headlights fall short. This isn't just about adding a little extra light; it is about transforming how you navigate dark environments. The core of this product lies in its dual-beam technology. Each 4-inch pod features a specific combination of a 15-degree spotlight and a 170-degree floodlight. This creates a hybrid beam pattern that allows you to see distant objects clearly while still illuminating the immediate area around your vehicle. For someone driving on unlit country roads or working in a quarry at night, this range extension is critical.
Who should buy this? You are the ideal candidate if you own a pickup, ATV, boat, or SUV and frequently find yourself in low-light conditions where safety depends on seeing far ahead. The adjustable mounting brackets included with the kit give you the freedom to angle the lights exactly where you need them, whether that is pointing straight down the trail or sweeping wide across a work site. The rugged aluminum housing and IP68 rating indicate a product built to survive dust, water, and shock, making it suitable for harsh weather conditions. However, you must be prepared for a more involved setup.

You should skip this product if you are looking for a simple bolt-on solution to replace a broken tail light or if you only drive on well-lit city streets. The 60W power output is significant, and the 2.5-inch mounting bracket is designed specifically for 2.5-inch to 3-inch towing hitches. If your vehicle does not have a compatible receiver or if you do not need auxiliary forward lighting, the complexity and cost of installing a separate wiring harness make this an unnecessary expense. It is a tool for performance and utility, not a basic maintenance part.
In stark contrast to the aggressive forward-facing power of the RYANSTAR unit, the Raknaok 1 is a minimalist safety device designed for one purpose: replacing your missing or damaged hitch cover light. It is a single-unit solution that integrates seamlessly into the standard 2-inch receiver tube. The defining feature here is its multi-function capability. Instead of being a static reflector, this unit combines running lights, brake lights, turn signals, and reverse lights into one cohesive assembly using 15 high-intensity LEDs. This ensures that your vehicle communicates every action to drivers behind you, which is essential when towing trailers, boats, or carrying heavy loads that might obscure your factory lights.
Who should buy this? This product is perfect for any truck, SUV, or RV owner whose original hitch light has been stolen, lost, or broken. The universal fit for most trucks and the inclusion of a 4-pin adapter suggest a straightforward "plug-and-play" experience. There is no need to hunt for external wiring harnesses or worry about complex beam adjustments. The sealed ABS material construction promises durability against rain, snow, and car washes, ensuring the unit remains functional regardless of the weather. If your primary concern is legal compliance and preventing rear-end collisions by ensuring your brake and turn signals are visible, this covers all the bases.
You should avoid this if you are hoping to improve your forward vision or add off-road capabilities. This is strictly a rear-facing safety light. It does not provide the high-powered illumination needed for night driving on unpaved roads. Furthermore, because it is a single unit count of 1, it does not offer the symmetrical look or the massive wattage of a dual-pod system. It is a utilitarian replacement part, not an upgrade for performance lighting. If you already have a fully functional hitch light system and are just looking for extra brightness, this unit will not add anything new to your experience.
• Best for Forward Visibility → RYANSTAR RACING 4, as its 60W spot and flood combo beam actively lights up the path ahead.
• Best for Rear Safety Communication → Raknaok 1, which handles brakes, turns, and reverse signals in one sealed unit.
• Best for Off-Road and Construction → RYANSTAR RACING 4, due to its IP68 waterproof rating and rugged aluminum housing designed for extreme conditions.
• Best for Simple Replacement → Raknaok 1, offering a direct swap for a broken light with a standard 2-inch receiver fit.
• Installation Complexity → RYANSTAR RACING 4 requires purchasing a separate wiring kit, whereas Raknaok 1 includes a 4-pin adapter for immediate connection.
• Beam Control → RYANSTAR RACING 4 offers adjustable brackets to change light direction, while Raknaok 1 has a fixed orientation.
• Durability Focus → Both are weather-resistant, but RYANSTAR uses aluminum for impact resistance, while Raknaok relies on sealed ABS for corrosion protection.
• Versatility → RYANSTAR RACING 4 serves multiple roles (driving, fog, search, backup), while Raknaok 1 is dedicated solely to trailer hitch signaling.
I would buy the RYANSTAR RACING 4 if my goal was to enhance my ability to see the road during off-road adventures or late-night hauling, as the spot and flood combo beam offers a level of control and brightness that transforms night driving. However, for the vast majority of drivers who simply need a functional hitch light to ensure they are visible and legal on the road, the Raknaok 1 is the smarter, less stressful choice. It solves the problem of a missing light without requiring you to become an amateur electrician. Ultimately, if you are buying accessories for bike racks or other towing setups where you need to illuminate the cargo area or the path ahead, the RYANSTAR RACING 4 provides the active lighting power you need. But if you just need to signal your stops and turns safely, the Raknaok 1 is the practical winner. In my opinion, the RYANSTAR RACING 4 wins on pure performance specs, but the Raknaok 1 wins on ease of use for daily towing needs.
