FAQ's
Q: Do we have to have a physical turned in prior to trying out?
A: All new candidates must have a physical . New members will need to have their physical turned in by February 18th at 4:15. All returning members must have a physical by March 20th, 2025.
Q: Do I have to have white tennis shoes to try out?
A: Yes, you must have white closed toe shoes to try out. You do not have to go out and buy Cheerleading shoes, or spend a lot of money but part of the tryout uniform is having white shoes. Tryout uniform does effect scoring.
Q: Are we going to camp this year? If so is it mandatory?
A: YES!! We are planning on going to camp this year June 6-9th. Camp is mandatory for all squad members.
Q: What is the minimum score I need to make the team??
A: We are going to be selecting our new teams by doing natural break meaning there is no minimum score. We want the squads to have similar skill talent and levels.
Q: Can I still be in another sport and be a part of the cheer team?
A: We highly recommend that they do not join another sport while they are involved in cheer. They are REQUIRED to be in Cheer class and according to UIL rules they cannot be in two PE credit courses at once. This means that if she makes the volleyball team that she cannot be in the volleyball class and can only go to volleyball practice in the morning before school. For games, it gets a bit complicated. The UIL week starts over at like Friday at 3pm or something like that and they can only do one UIL event per week. For example, if volleyball games are on Tuesday and Friday and we are cheering at a football game on Wednesday, she wouldn't be able to play in the Tuesday volleyball game because she is cheering on Wednesday and they are both UIL events, but she would be able to play in the Friday game because the UIL week started over.
