A bandsaw box is a wooden box made entirely using a bandsaw, sanding equipment and other materials. This makes unique, free-form shapes and designs. My box was a cylinder shape with 2 drawers used for the goal of holding a pair of keys, wallet and phone all in one. The phone would sit on the top of the box, keys in the top drawer, and wallet in the bottom drawer. (I undershot with the measurements so the wallet I had didn't fit.)
On the first couple days I took 6 pieces of 2 different pieces of wood, and glued them together creating a starting box.
Next I used AutoCAD to create a blueprint of my box, using 5.5 x 5.5 x 6 measurements. Then printed the blueprint onto the box to be used for cutting.
After the blueprint was on, I used a bandsaw to cut out the cylinder shape of the box. And the sanded the excess to create a smooth surface. (There were multiple issues I came across along the way but I had solved all if not most of them.
My next step was to cut out the space where the drawers would be going. The cuts weren't perfect but I knew that there were going to be issues.
For my last And final step was to create the drawers and to apply clear wood finish to bring out the color in the wood.
