I co-developed and teach a series of courses in accounting analytics at UNSW, designed for undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional learners. These courses emphasize hands-on, case-based projects where students apply advanced data analytics techniques to tackle real-world accounting and financial reporting challenges. Topics covered include quantitative fundamental analysis, fraud detection in financial reporting, corporate earnings prediction, disclosure text mining, and evaluating regulatory policies. The curriculum equips students with the analytical skills needed to navigate and innovate in the evolving accounting landscape.
I teach financial statement analysis in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. These courses approach FSA through the lens of valuation, with an emphasis on forecasting and risk evaluation. These courses delve into the unique data-generating process behind accounting numbers and their implications for analysis and valuation. To ensure students are prepared for emerging trends, I have also integrated exploratory topics on the application of AI in financial statement analysis.
