About Ryan

Ryan is an aspiring data analyst with an emphasis on spatial political data and Geographic Information Science (GIS). As a former political organizer, he has direct experience on both the client and consultant side of data-driven campaigning. This grants him unique insight into what clients need and how data minded decision making empowers his clients.

The skills earned through Ryan's GIS and political experience are not mutually exclusive. Both bring crucial skill sets necessary for the work that is required in the GIS field.

As a candidate for Clark University's Master of Science in Geographic Information systems, Ryan has experience working with many forms of spatial data, including but not limited to remotely sensed data, TINs, government political boundary file, geocoded point data, and terrain datasets gathered from lidar. His work covers a broad range of applications from urban planning to forest ecology, both through traditional GIS software such as QGIS and ArcGIS, as well as through IDEs such as RStudio and Pycharm.

Leveraging spatial analysis and public data to solve complex problems.

Political Experience

As a former political organizer, Ryan understands needs of both the client and consultant, a useful tool when working on complex GIS tasks that might require novel approaches. Further, organizing taught Ryan that it is paramount to create an environment that enables the development of team members and volunteers, viewing their strengths as an asset to reach your goals.
