This policy explains how the RxPad PH Android application handles information. RxPad PH is an offline-first prescription-documentation tool intended for qualified healthcare professionals.
Depending on how RxPad PH is used, information stored locally on the device may include:
physician identity, professional credentials, signature, and contact details;
clinic names, addresses, contact details, and schedules;
patient identity and demographic information;
prescription drafts, confirmed records, prescribed items, instructions, and generated documents;
custom medicine names and app settings; and
local audit information used to preserve issued records.
RxPad PH does not create an online account and does not upload this information to an RxPad PH server. The current version does not contain advertising, analytics, or tracking services and does not request Android internet access.
When a user chooses to preview, print, or share a prescription, Android sends the document to the service, device, application, or recipient selected by the user. Those third parties may process the information under their own terms and privacy policies. Printed and shared copies are outside RxPad PH’s control.
The app processes information locally to create and manage prescription documentation, generate PDF files, and provide user-selected printing or sharing. The healthcare professional or organisation using RxPad PH is responsible for determining its lawful basis, providing any required patient notice, observing professional confidentiality, and complying with applicable Philippine privacy and healthcare obligations.
RxPad PH stores records in an encrypted local database. Its encryption key uses Android secure storage. Device backup is disabled, screenshots are blocked, and users may protect access with a PIN and supported device biometrics. No security measure can guarantee absolute protection. Users must also secure the device and any recipients of exported documents.
Local information remains on the device until it is removed using available app controls or the application is uninstalled. Uninstalling RxPad PH removes its application data from the device. Users must separately manage any PDF files, printouts, backups, or copies shared to other services or recipients.
RxPad PH is intended for qualified healthcare professionals and is not directed to children. A professional may enter information concerning a minor patient only when authorised and responsible for doing so.
RxPad PH is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. The prescriber remains responsible for all clinical and professional decisions and for checking every document before it is issued.
We may update this policy as the product or legal requirements change. The current version and effective date will be posted at https://sites.google.com/view/rxpad/privacy.
