I'm a retired mechanical designer. I got into this hobby when I was just a kid building the rubber powered Guillows planes and then when I got older, and had a job, I was able to afford getting into R/C flying
I got into R/C flying in the early 1980s when I joined the Madison Area Radio Control Society in Madison, Wisconsin where I learned to fly. I started off with sailplane soaring and glow flying and then grew into big scale gas models and the electric ARF foamy models.
My greatest enjoyment in this hobby is building and setting up the planes and doing the research for the scale warbirds I like to build. All the warbirds I build are a replica of a real aircraft that once flew. I also enjoy spending time with the many friends I have made over the years in this great hobby.
I joined the Rock Valley RC Flyers in September 2016. I am also a member of the Fon Du Lac Flyers in Wisconsin. I live in the small town of Monticello, WI, which is about an hour's drive to the RVRCF flying field.
