Broken By the Invisible: A Journey Through Long Haul Covid and Being Unseen.
When Covid stole her health, the medical system stole her hope.
Ruthann was a nurse, a mother of four and a woman who trusted her body - until Long Haul Covid rewired her nervous system and left her fighting for answers no one seemed willing to give. What followed was a journey through tremors, collapses, vision loss and a maze of specialists who dismissed, doubted or simply walked away.
Boken By the Invisible is a raw, honest memoir about what happens when the system lets go but the symptoms don't. It's the story of a woman who refused to disappear inside an illness that kept trying to erase her. Through fear, grief and moments of quiet resilience, Ruthann learns to navigate a life she never asked for - and discovers strength she didn't know she had.
This memoir is for anyone living with invisible illness, medical trauma or the ache of being unheard. It's a reminder that even when the world stops believing you, your story still matters. And sometimes, being still here is its own kind of victory.

About the Author
Ruthann Lyn Harner is a licensed nurse, esthetician and author of Broken By the Invisible: A Journey Through Long Haul Covid and Being Unseen.
After more than two decades in nursing, Ruthann never expected to find herself on the other side of healthcare - as a patient struggling with a complex, often misunderstood illness. Her experience with Long Covid changed not only her health, but her perspective on what it means to be unseen.
Through her own journey, Ruthann discovered how isolating it can be to live with symptoms that others cannot see and how difficult it can be to find answers when the medical system does not have all of them. She wrote Broken By the Invisible to give a voice to those living with Long Covid and to remind them that their experiences are real, their struggles matter and they are not alone.
Ruthann lives in Pennsylvania with her family and continues to advocate for greater awarness, understanding and research for those affected by Long Covid.
