Title: Link Floer Homology and (almost) braids

Speaker: Fraser Binns (Princeton)

Abstract: Link Floer homology is an invariant of links in the three sphere due to Ozsváth-Szabó. It is natural to ask what the topological content of link Floer homology is. Martin showed that Link Floer homology detects braids. In this talk I will discuss a generalisation of this result to “almost braids”. This is work in progress with Subhankar Dey.
