Students with strong Russian reading skills and a practical interest in translation may apply for the MA program in Russian Translation. Students work with the director of the program, Professor Ronald Meyer (Harriman Institute), to select the most appropriate courses and projects. This program does not lead toward a doctorate.

We will definitely discuss this issue with the translation agency and forward your feedback. I was already a little bit concerned when I noticed that the Russian translations were done outside of Crowdin. We never got a single question from the Russian translator which is a red flag to me because there are plenty of English source strings that are quite hard to translate without any context.

I note that I am not a professional translator and I do not speak English very well, but I have been an active user of the forum engine for several years and I am directly interested in high-quality Russian translation.

If necessary, I could add my 5 cents to the list of questions for translators, but in general I agree with @hiddenseal: some terms in the new translation look very strange, without any connection with the context.

@meglio

I have been using the forum engine since December 2019 and at the same time I took part in the translation on precisely because I was also not satisfied with the quality of the Russian translation available at that time.

It would be great if you could share your experience and point out specific existing inaccuracies (excluding changes made by the translation agency since October 2022) and together we could solve all translation problems much more efficiently.

Hey people, since an English MTL of a WIP of this translation to Russian has been published on here anyway, let me post the Russian translation itself. I used the scanned PDF of the original book the awesome u/SomeDudeNameLars shared here , so I kind of owe it to this subreddit)). There will be an update to the file in a month (you won't need a new link!) because this is an one-man project and I have to take some rest from it before I'm able to give it a proper final edit. Please don't share the downloads for now so my fuckups are not perpetuated. Share the link instead)).

All students are required to complete an individual translation project (translation and introduction), begun in the Literary Translation course and completed in a Directed Research course. A copy of the finished translation should be submitted to the department office.

The Director of Graduate Studies meets with all M.A. students in advance of each semester to discuss course selection and degree requirements, as well as intermittently throughout the academic year. At the end of the first semester, translation students confer with the Director of the program, who normally advises the translation, to identify a second reader for the project.

This happened to me today when I logged into the system using the English locale. I happened to notice that for concepts that only have Fully specified name in english, no short name in english but another short name in russian, The russian short name is used instead of using the Fully specified name. I have attached some pictures to explain a little more. Is there a way to configure the system so that these locales do not mix? I think this can be an issue if you are running reports/exports.

Thanks @akanter! In the CIEL dictionary, this concept does not have any Russian translation. We(PIH) are translating some concepts that will be used for our endTB project. Some of these concepts come from CIEL, others were newly created by the bahmni team.

I am not able to see the actual content as I keep getting a server error. However, can I ask why we are using this method of translating CONCEPTS? I thought this was to be used for UI/properties files only. I really would prefer a method which can be consistent with CIEL and so all us to distribute the translations with CIEL.

If you've already obtained an apostille for your source document or your notarized certified translation you might still have a final step of translating the apostille into the destination language via certified translation. This will depend on the receiver so please check your receiver's requirements first to avoid ordering unnecessary translations.

Our Russian translators have successfully translated thousands of apostilles. All certified Russian translations are performed 100% by professional human translators who are native Russian speakers also fluent in English. We have a strict vetting and quality control process to ensure our high standards are met by all of our Russian translators allowing us to consistently deliver quality work to our clients.

Certified translations are for official uses where your receiver requires certification to verify that the translation is complete and accurate. This type of translation is commonly required for submission to U.S. Immigration (USCIS), universities, courts and many local, state, and federal governments.

The translation must be a literal (word-for-word) translation of all visible text and the certification certification must attest to the fact that the translation was performed by a qualified translator fluent in the language pair. We only use professional human translators and 100% of our certified translations meet these requirements.

We take additional steps when preparing your translation packet to ensure acceptance by the widest range of receivers. We provide all certified translations on company letterhead with order and page numbers across all pages along with our contact info and ATA corporate member number. Our certification also specifies that the translator has no relation, personal or otherwise, to the owner of the document and when needed we can have the certification notarized to authenticate the identity of the authorized signer and provide you with the original copies including wet ink signatures.

RushTranslate is among the largest providers of certified translations in the United States. Our services are utilized by tens of thousands businesses and individuals every year because we consistently deliver high quality translations quickly and affordably.

Notarization authenticates the identity of the signer of the certification. This adds an additional layer of validation to the translation and the receiver can be confident that the certification is authentic.

If you order a physical copy we will ship you an unfolded copy of the translation with wet ink signatures in a cardboard envelope printed on 24 lb. paper via a color laser printer. We do not print and ship a copy of your source documents as you will pair our translation with the originals already in your possession.

Then I got the message from the publisher. Today's Russia has working copyright laws. Orwell died in 1950, and the rights to his work will enter the public domain on Jan. 1, 2021. It was an opportunity to do the first translation since Soviet times.

But here's the problem: I still can't get rid of the feeling that Winston and I are the same person. Golyshev told me he never reread his translation or the original after finishing his work. I think I know why. Shaking off this book is much harder than professing optimism.

This discussion has described the status of the large United States program for translation from the Russian. A partial description of what is being done or planned, and by whom, has been provided as a guide for those who wish to follow the subject further. The urge to pass on useful information has necessarily restricted the space which might also have been profitably devoted to the philosophic aspects of the problem. Although it is not said with any sense of pride in achievement-because much more remains to be done than has been done-it would seem fair to describe the current national translation activity, including all contributions to it, as a phenomenon. Phenomena in scientific communication are not common: a full appreciation of their significance requires more analysis than results from a simple listing of their outward characteristics. But a few observations might be made in conclusion. Most United States scientists probably feel that, as a nation, we are and should be world leaders in science, even though this feeling is neither nurtured nor expressed in a spirit of violent competition. If this assumption is allowed, the point which seems to remain is that the United States will not retain its position casually. Our scientists expect to maintain an awareness of the scientific achievements and failures of the other nations of the world. But we must especially become more aware of the advances of Soviet science, both qualitatively and quantitatively. The evidence points toward this last conclusion, regardless of whether one is concerned with the production of ideas or things, increase in man's knowledge of himself and his environment, conflict between idealisms, or simply the national security.

In particular, strategy or adventure games might be ideal, as you generally have some time to read and understand the text. I was particularly looking for Microprose strategy games, as I am very familiar with many of these.

It appears many of these games weren't originally translated into Russian for their commercial release, however I am hoping there may be some fan translation projects.

I've done some googling but haven't had much luck. 2351a5e196
