HIS STATEMENT
I live my life through observation, paying attention to the details and admiring them. My goal through my photographic work is to document those details, highlighting the things I observe, in hopes to assist other people with glimpsing the world more deeply. My practice focuses on documenting moments in the moment. Through digital and darkroom photography I focus on documenting what I notice.
Outside of practicing photography, Russell spends his free time contributing to Scouting America as an adult leader in local troops and as an adult adviser for his local Order of the Arrow lodge (Scoutings National Honor Society).
He's spent his summers working at Scouting America summer camps, specifically the Aquatics area. When not needing to be in his area, he ventures around camp and takes photos of other camp activities.
At school, Russell is an active member in his Fraternity, Delta Upsilon. He was the 2025 Vice President of Risk Managemnet, as prior has served as the Junior Judical Board Memeber, and Mental Health Chair. Russell loves going to philanthory and service events, and often brings his camera along to capture images of his fellow Fraternity brothers raising money for the Global Service Initiative.
