Pasiphae

Pasiphae is a collection of Jupyter notebooks designed to guide undergraduates with little to moderate programming experience through data analysis challenges presented in teaching laboratories.

Experiments so far include:

• Hooke's Law for a spring (PASCO ME-9827, SE-8749)

• Diffraction spectrometer (Thorlabs EDU-SPEB1)

• Calorimetry of water (PASCO TD-8557B)

• Visualising the electric field (numerical experiment)

• Visualising the electric potential (PASCO PK-9023, ES-9060)

• Frank-Hertz experiment (3B Scientific, PASCO SE-9639)

• Polarization and saccharimetry (Thorlabs EDU-3D1)

• Heat engines (PASCO EX-5530B, TD-8572A)

• Energy eigenstates of the finite 1D square well potential (numerical experiment)

Analysis workshops are under development for the following experiments:

• Optical tweezers (Thorlabs EDU-OT2)

• Fourier optics and optical spatial filtering (Thorlabs EDU-FOP1)
