Millions in rural India are yet to enjoy easy access to healthcare. Many efforts notwithstanding, so far, medical facilities, skilled personnel, and affordable services remain all too rare in the rural habitat. When over 65% of India's population resides in rural areas, denial of equal access to healthcare goes beyond individual well-being and strikes at community well-being in its general form.
This online exhibition looks at some of the big challenges restricting access to health care in India's rural areas: geographic isolation, financial constraints, and a lack of infrastructure. We will do this through case studies, government initiatives, and real-life stories, all highlighting efforts underway to bridge gaps between quality health services and all sections of society. Join us on this journey as we look into the current state of rural health and the associated problems that will result in a healthier tomorrow.
