Hi, I’m Rupshali Dasgupta, a novice Machine Learning Researcher passionate about the application of Privacy-Preserving AI on medical domain. I am pursuing my Master’s in Computer Science & Engineering at IIT Kharagpur, where my research focuses on secure and scalable deep learning algorithms for intrusion detection and smart grid security. I have been working under the supervision of Prof Pabitra Mitra.
I completed my Bachelor’s in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from KIIT, Bhubaneswar in 2022.
I am always striving to learn more, constantly exploring new ideas in AI to push the boundaries of what’s possible.
I am actively seeking PhD opportunities at the intersection of Federated Learning (FL) and biomedical imaging, with a focus on privacy-preserving and decentralized AI training. While my previous research centered on intrusion detection and smart grid security, I am now eager to explore broader and more contemporary challenges in FL and large language models (LLMs)—particularly in federated optimization, personalization, and scalable, efficient distributed learning for healthcare and medical imaging applications.
I am deeply motivated by the potential of federated AI to transform medical research and diagnostics by enabling secure, collaborative model training across institutions. My research interests include advancing the scalability, security, and real-world applicability of federated systems, with an emphasis on privacy, fairness, explainability, and the efficient adaptation of LLMs in sensitive, data-constrained environments.
At the same time, I remain flexible and open to contributing to other research areas within machine learning and distributed systems. I am enthusiastic about collaborating with researchers tackling cutting-edge problems in AI, and I am eager to contribute wherever my skills and interests can be most impactful.
I am a HUGE Potterhead!
I LOVE to travel, but I don't often get a chance to
My favorite food is BIRYANI!!
